Hotel tip: Damaraland Camp in Namibia
This unique eco project in Namibia combines nature conservation and tourism.
It has been decorated several times and thus it is the role model for the “new Namibia”. The people in Namibia are involved in the conservation of nature.
The community remains the owner of the land; the employees live nearby and do not have to leave their families. There are no fences here!
Every product that is available here, is bought here.
Three sides of the tent can be opened so that the tent is airy. And you have got a fantastic view from your bed onto Namibia’s night sky.
In the rear there is a shower, a WC and a basin.
From your paved patio you have got a view onto Namibia’s landscape.
Your baggage is stored on open shelves. Solar energy generates the electricity for light.
There are no outlets. Every electric device can be charged in the lobby.
In the lobby area, there are comfortable sofas, armchairs and a small bar.
Right in time for sunset, the bonfire is ignited and the table is set. You will have dinner with the guides and discuss the adventures of the day (When the weather is fine, this takes place in the boma beneath the sky.)
If you do not want to take part in the extensive activities (panorama tours, hikes and so on),
you can relax at the pool and enjoy the view into the widths of the Damaraland.
Price per person, “all inclusive” & 2 activities; 2 nights: 498.-
Our tip: Stay at least 2 nights so that you can use all offers.
You will love the cordiality of your hosts. They especially focus on the details. They love hiking – 2 trails lead from the lodge into the Damaraland (further information will follow). Another highlight is the excursion to the rock carvings at Twyfelfontain. By car, it will take about 4 hours e.g. from Okaukuejo.
