Your trip to South Africa begins with your flight there.

2nd day    Johannesburg
You will take your hired car at the appointed time.

Johannesburg – Schagen
You will travel east to the beautiful Schoeman’s Kloof Valley.

1 overnight stay at the Old Joe’s Kaia
room category: standard, incl. half board.
The Old Joe’s Kaia is located halfway between Johannesburg and the Krüger National Park. Thus, it is the ideal stop on your trip to the Krüger Park and your way back respectively.

3rd day    Schagen – Hazyview
Today, you will travel through the scenic Mpumalanga.

2 overnight stays at the Chestnut Country Lodge
room category: standard, incl. breakfast.
The old farmhouse is located on a litchi farm with a size of 50ha. It was affectionately renovated and the nine rooms are decorated individually. Your room and your private patio provide you with a splendid view onto the surrounding landscape. You can agree with the owners to have dinner at the lodge, too.

4th day    Hazyview
You should use Hazyview as base for your sightseeing-tours in the eastern Mpumalanga. You can easily reach the Panorama-Route, the restored the little booms town Pilgrim’s Rest and the Blyde River Canyon with its numerous view points from here.

5th day    Hazyview – Krüger National Park
After a short trip you will arrive at the Krüger National Park.

3 overnight stays at a restcamp
room category: bungalow, without board.
There are numerous rest camps in the Krüger National Park. When you book your trip, we will advise you which rest camps are the best for your stay at the Krüger National Park.

6th day    Krüger National Park
You will have time on your own. Spend it on extended safaris.

7th day:    Krüger National Park

8th day    Krüger National Park – Mhlambanyatsi
Today, you will leave the Krüger National Park and travel to the small kingdom Swaziland.

1 overnight stay at the Foresters Arms Hotel
room category: standard, incl. breakfast.
The Forester Arms Hotel is located in the Swaziland Highlands, halfway on the route through Swaziland. It is the ideal stop for an overnight stay on your trip to the north or the south and a nice alternative to the big hotels in the Ezulwini Valley.

9th day    Mhlambanyatsi – St. Lucia
You will travel through Swaziland. In Golela you will return to South Africa and the N2 leading to the south.

2 overnight stays at the St. Lucia Wetlands Guesthouse
room category: room 4/5, incl. breakfast.
The St. Lucia Wetlands Guesthouse is in the little city St. Lucia. It will only take you five minutes to go to the beaches. The five rooms have a bath or a shower and a WC. Most of them face the palm garden. The owners are very committed and will gladly help you to plan your activities.

10th day    St. Lucia
You will have time on your own. You should use it on getting to know the biosphere reserve by car, by boat or on foot. The magnificent beaches will seduce you to go swimming or take a walk. You can go to the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi National Park in 45 minutes from here if you go by car.

11th day    St. Lucia – Durban
You will travel southbound to Durban.

1 overnight stay at the Ridgeview Lodge, incl. breakfast.
The Ridgeview Lodge is located in the district Berea in a quiet and yet central area so that you will be able to reach the city centre and the Marine Parade quickly. The seven rooms are comfortably equipped with an air conditioning system, a TV, a telephone and other conveniences like hairdryer, facilities to make tea or coffee, a fruit basket and so on. Begin the evening in the in-house bar, which provides you with a spectacular view onto the city and the sea. Afterwards you can go out to have dinner in one of the 30 restaurants. None of them is more than a kilometre away from the lodge. You will surely find one that will satisfy your gusto. The Ridgeview Lodge is a nice alternative to the big anonymous hotels at the Marine Parade!

12th day    Durban – Winterton
You should start early today, because you will have to accomplish a rather long distance. You will go to the northern Drakensberge along the mountains.

3 overnight stays at the “The Cavern Mountain Resort”
room category: superior, incl. full board. 
The “The Cavern Mountain Resort” is located in a scenic landscape at the end of a valley. The 55 rooms are distributed onto several houses and are comfortably equipped. The owners of the resort offer guided hikes in the morning every day (they are included in the price).

13th day    Winterton
You will have time on your own you can spend either on hiking or just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful mountain region.

14th day    Winterton

15th day    Winterton – Johannesburg
Today, you will leave the South African mountain region and go to Johannesburg.

Johannesburg
Today, you will return your hired car at the airport.

Johannesburg – Frankfurt
It is time to say goodbye to South Africa. Have a nice return flight and thank you for going on this trip with Afrika & mehr.

16th day    arrival.
