Cape Classic Round Trip from Cape Town to the Garden Route, Addo Elephant Park and Oudtshoorn in South Africa

A Round Trip escorted, organized and joined with your travelling partner Armin

A Round Trip on 7 days visiting all the popular highlights which South Africa has on the Menu.
This "fully-inclusive" journey can be booked through Pink Elephant Safaris and adapted to your special needs.

Day 1 and 2:
The journey starts in Cape Town and goes along the N2 through the Southern Cape to Mossel Bay. In Mossel Bay the Garden Route begins and ends with the Tsitsikamma National Park. Garden Route means the coastal line and is bordered by the sea and the mountain chain behind the coast. There is a sub-tropical climate which brings up a huge garden-style vegetation with large forests areas.

We overnighted with style in the heart of the Garden Route at the beautifully settled Cambalala Guest House. Othmar and Bruno are great host always reading our needs from our lips! A wonderful place to be treated as a king or a queen!

We started our sightseeing tour with the cozy Waterfront, then headed to the Heads of Knysna to indulge into the 360 degree view onto the harbor area, the city, the mountains and the open sea. You are never getting short doing something along the Garden Route. We decided to explore the wild Nature's Valley and spending some time on the endless beach. There is absolutely no disturbance beside the tides bringing the water closer to your bath towel. After that sun and sea bath we went to Bird's of Eden above and along the N2. A wonderful place to rest, relax and discover easily the hundreds of different small and bigger birds in a protected area.

Day 3 and 4:
From Knysna we continued our travelling to the ever popular Addo National Park in the neighbourhood of Port Elizabeth. Outside of the park we overnighted on a beautiful and romantic Guest Farm. Kobus and Gerhard are both musicians and the Victorian style decorated place spreads culture and poesies. The 3-course dinner seduces with finest quality and creativity.

On the first evening we went for a Sundowner Game Drive in the Addo Park. With crackers, biltong [South African version of specially dried meat] and a glass of wine we let the day gone pass surrounded by elephants, lions and antelopes out in the bush. The day after we spent many interesting hours to explore and find the elephants, warthogs, zebras, buffalos, kudus, red hartebeest, jackals and others more...!

Day 5 and 6:
From the Addo Park the journey went on through the open land and the peace of the Great Karoo. In Willowmore we visited a funny coffee place where you eat and drink surrounded by antiques and crazy decoration. Refreshed we arrived in the centre of the ostrich farms. The Thabile Lodge lies a bit outside before Oudtshoorn. Len its host welcomes you with truly South African charm and generosity and is your perfect entertainer through the evening. Don't miss the delicious supper served on the verandah admiring Out of Africa. We spent some time around the pool and Jacuzzi area and got educated about ostrich breeding on one of the show farms around. On the foot of the Swartberg Pass there are the great Cango Caves which can be visited on a normal or adventure tour, the last one meaning squeezing through thin, humid and dirty tunnels.

Day 7:
On the last day we said good-by to the Little Karoo and its landscape by travelling on the Route 62 and enjoying great scenery and passes down to the Cape.
