Garden Route – Fish Eagle Lodge, Knysna
The Fish Eagle Lodge is located on a mountain above the Knysna Lagoon. It provides you with a splendid view onto the Knysna Heads, the entrance to the lagoon and the surrounding mountains.
When you are staying at Knysna you can alternate active days and swimming days. You can e.g. go from Knysna to George on the steam train Outeniqua Choo-Tjoo or go on a boat trip on the Knysna Lagoon including an oyster test. If you like hiking, you can visit the Tsitsikamma National Park with the last giant trees of South Africa or hike along the varied coast area with its tropical vegetation.
There are splendid beaches nearby and a bit further away. You can often use them almost all alone. They are perfect for swimming and sun bathing. Watch out for dolphins in the afternoon, go swimming with penguins at Plettenberg or watch out for right whales.
