Hotel tip: Palmwag Lodge
Palmwag Lodge is one of the lodges located the farthest North West in Namibia.
It will take you two or three hours by car to get to the lodge from Khorixas.
Dependent on the season and the amount of precipitation you will need a four wheel car. The way to the lodge is diversified and will lead you over a mountain pass. The gorgeous views will tempt you to take photos regularly.
The lodge is a fertile garden in the most original area of the Damaraland. The view onto the surrounding mesas is terrific and the sunsets are unforgettable. The surrounding palms form a majestic scenery.
The lodge consits of a main building with restaurant, a reception, several outhouses, a garden with swimming pool and a campsite. At first sight, you will realize that the lodge has grown steadily in the last years.
The rooms of the lodge are equipped functionally and provide you with a shower and WC.
The luxury tents of the lodge are equipped very comfortably in the African style.
As they have got a shower and a WC, they are a nice alternative to the traditional room.
The patio offers a great view and thus is the perfect spot to enjoy the scenery.
The restaurant offers good and solid dinners and opulent breakfasts.
The bar invites you to stay.
In the afternoon you will get as much coffee and cake as you can drink and eat.

The excursions offered by the lodge are unique.
The guides stem from this area and can give you a lot of information about the flora and fauna of this very special area. The private reserve is one of the most diversified ones in the north of Namibia.

Damaraland tour:
A round trip in the private reserve for 8-10 hours.
A tour for epicures in the four wheel car through canyons and mountains.
You often have the chance to watch animals.
Desert elephants:
You will go to the Huanib dry river for 8-10 hours.
It is a safari to see desert elephants.
Himba:
You will go to the north to the last nomads of Africa on a 10-12 hours lasting tour. This tour surely is the most exciting but also the most exhausting one.
